New development engineer
Palcut is strengthening its development of bespoke solutions with the appointment of Kurt Kirkeby

Kurt Kirkeby (53) has been taken on as a development engineer at Palcut A/S, headquartered near Holstebro, Denmark. In his new role, Kurt Kirkeby will develop bespoke solutions within sheet dispensing and interlayer sheets for industry. He will also be involved in the development of new products relating to solutions for palleting and the stabilisation of pallet consignments during transport.
Kurt Kirkeby has experience within a wide variety of fields and joins the company from Labflex, where he worked for five years as a product developer developing laboratory equipment. This included a flexible physics/chemistry classroom system for schools with integrated multimedia solutions to enable experiments to be transmitted and shared, as well as 3D printing. Before then, he worked for Bang & Olufsen A/S for 13 years, partly in Innovation & Prototyping, with the sprint development of new B&O concepts.
Kurt Kirkeby graduated from Sønderborg Technical College as a mechanical engineer and has regularly supplemented his training with courses in a wide variety of areas, including Finite Element Analysis and Design For Manufacture.
This is a new post, and is part of Palcut’s aim of doubling sales within the next few years. The company’s fully automated dispensers and anti-slip interlayer sheets set new standards for pallet stability and uptime on packing lines. The solutions are targeted at a number of industries, including food and drink, furniture and paper. The company has already installed 500 systems that are part of fully automated palletising systems in the European market.
“Increasing demand for our solutions in the form of Palcut sheet dispensers and Antim anti-slip paper has led us to expand our development and design department further. This will enable faster and more precise deliveries. This will take place through a deep understanding of the industry’s palleting processes and in a constructive dialogue with our clients. Drawing on his technical background, Kurt Kirkeby will be able to assess customers’ needs and speak their language,” says Rudi Pedersen, Managing Director of Palcut A/S, about the reason behind the appointment.
