Palcut A/S in Holstebro, specialists in solutions for automatic packaging, strengthen their sales and marketing with the appointment of Michael V. Jensen as sales director.
As of 1 March, 58-year-old Michael V. Jensen has been appointed as sales director/CSO at Palcut A/S in Borbjerg near Holstebro. This is a newly created position with responsibility for Palcut’s global sales and marketing of anti-slip paper and automation solutions for packaging lines in the industry.
Michael V. Jensen’s duties will be to continue, and expand, the positive development of Palcut installing more than 500 solutions for (primarily) the European food and beverage industry. Palcut is a Scandinavian leader in the automated application of anti-slip paper in the form of liner sheets on pallets in packaging lines.
“Palcut has a strong concept and a solid customer base. Covid-19 has created additional focus on automating end-of-line packaging, thereby reducing staffing so that companies can minimise their vulnerability and secure the supply of food to shops. This has proven to be worth its weight in gold over the past year, and the trend will continue,” says Michael V. Jensen.
Michael has held management positions in production and logistics in international B2B sales for the last 22 years. He’s come from the role of director of the product division at Riantics in Arden (formerly Qubiqa Logistics), where he focused on the global development of the business and key account management.
He has previously been area sales manager at SBS A/S in Svendborg, with responsibility for the UK and American markets, and sales operations manager at DALI USA Inc., where he built up their American organisation for the sale of hi-fi speakers for four years. From 1996–2004 he was employed by Cerwin Vega Europe, where he was in the role of general manager of EMEA when he left the company.
According to Michael V. Jensen, it was with Cerwin Vega that he became interested in sales and learned his craft: “My boss sent me on a two-month road trip through the United States, where I learned to canvas and support distributors. It was very much learning by doing.”
Michael originally trained as a blacksmith at Epan Maskinfabrik and later trained as a mechanical engineer at Randers Technical College (today Tradium). He’s learned the rest based on the motto: If others can do it, so can I.
“The potential for Palcut’s end-of-line solution is huge because we can combine a high degree of reliability with significant savings and sustainability. I want to use all my international experience to strengthen our cross-border sales channels,” concludes Michael V. Jensen.
CEO of Palcut A/S, Henrik Thulesen, says: “Palcut is already a success: we have grown year by year in both revenue and profits. The position of sales director has just been created, and with the appointment of Michael V. Jensen, we have the right profile to accelerate international growth and create increased activity in a number of key markets.”
