Over the last 10 years, LogiCon Nordic, formerly known as Slagteriernes Fællesindkøb (SFK), has had a close collaboration with Palcut. The vendor/partner relationship is unconventional in the sense that the cooperation has evolved over time into a form of friendship, which is rare in an era where price tends to outweigh collaborative connections.
“Who can help me with products of the best quality at the best price?” That’s how Anette Bjorholm, the Product Manager at LogiCon, describes the part of her work that involves exploring the market for new partners. Price is a crucial parameter, but with Palcut, a shared understanding has transformed their relationship into one where they can rely on each other because it creates value for both parties.
“The collaboration with Palcut is much more than a typical vendor partnership. We play with completely open cards with each other, and together we find the best solution for the customer.”
According to Anette Bjorholm, a good collaboration means going the extra mile for each other – even if it needs to happen quickly. She refers to an episode where another supplier was supposed to deliver some sheets to a customer transporting raw materials to Greenland. The sheets were delivered in the wrong size, and the ferry was about to sail without the goods if Palcut hadn’t stepped in at the last minute.
The joint project work and close collaboration set Palcut apart from others. Additionally, LogiCon and Palcut have an agreement that if LogiCon is unable to explain the technical details of the product to the customer, Palcut steps in wearing the LogiCon hat. “I’ve been in this game my whole professional life, and I’ve never experienced a partner offering such an agreement,” says Anette Bjorholm, who believes that a successful end result is built on trust.
